What to put in a local counsel task post

A good task post attracts the right lawyer and prevents vague messages. It should state jurisdiction, task, deadline, documents, authority, and reporting needs.

What to put in a local counsel task post

A task post is not a classified ad. It is the first professional instruction. The clearer the post, the more likely the right lawyer can decide whether to accept.

Open with jurisdiction and task

State where the task must happen and what needs to be done: hearing attendance, filing, registry check, service support, document review, or local procedural note.

Add deadline and urgency

Give the exact date, time zone, and consequence of missing the deadline. If the task is urgent, say whether conflict checks and fee terms must be completed within hours.

State output and authority

Explain what the lawyer may agree to and what close-out record is required. The output may be a filing receipt, hearing note, registry extract, marked-up document, or short memo.

Good task posts make LawyerGo feel like workflow software for lawyers, not a message board.
